Corne Krige

Corne Krige is a former Springbok rugby captain and the owner of an outdoor advertising company and author of his autobiography, Right Place at the Wrong Time.

Born in Zambia, where his parents still live, Corné was schooled in South Africa at Paarl Boys High. He currently lives in Cape Town with his wife and three children.

Corné was a hardworking and motivated openside flank who finally made his Test debut in 1999 after having fought his way back from career-threatening knee and hand injuries.

Corné’s Test debut came in 1999 and captained the Springboks on his test debut in a 101-0 victory over Italy in Durban. He appeared in 39 tests for South Africa, became the full-time captain in 2002, and captained the Boks 18 times in all , before his international retirement in January 2004.
