About

Dineo Lioma is an entrepreneur and MedTech innovator who is inspired by innovation and the creation of high-impact businesses that create employment and improve healthcare in Africa. Miss Lioma is a serial entrepreneur, having founded 3 companies in the healthcare industry. She is currently the Founder and CEO of Docotela, a premium but affordable telehealth company that leverages digital technologies to make quality healthcare more affordable and accessible for all. Miss Lioma also previously served as the co-founder and COO of CapeBio Technologies, a biotechnology company that locally developed South Africa’s first COVID-19 test kit during the pandemic; and Incitech, a medical diagnostics company that developed a novel rapid HIV diagnostic device powered by nanotechnology.

Miss Lioma sits on the Boards of the North West University Enterprise and the Allan & Gill Gray Philanthropy South Africa, which works to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Africa and Higher Education systems. She was recently appointed to be an advisor to the National Advisory Council on Innovation (NACI), where she provides input into South Africa’s National Artificial Intelligence Strategy. She previously served as the Vice President of the Ventures Portfolio for the Association of Allan Gray Fellows where she led the NPO’s focus on developing high-impact and socially responsible entrepreneurs that will help solve Africa’s socio and economic challenges.

Miss Lioma was featured on the cover of Forbes Women Africa Magazine (Mar-May 2019) and was listed as one of the 20 New Wealth Creators on the African Continent. She was also selected for the Mail & Guardian Young 200 South Africans Award – Business Category (2019). She holds an MPhil in Micro and Nanotechnology Enterprise (with distinction) from the University of Cambridge where she focused on the commercialisation of Nanotechnology and Entrepreneurship. She also holds a BSc in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (24 distinctions) and a second Master’s by Research from the University of the Witwatersrand where she was sponsored by the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation, an entrepreneurial scholarship program that aims to empower University students with the skills to build
high-impact and ethical businesses.
