Introducing Hein Wagner – a Blind Man with Vision. ”He has been blind since birth… Despite this Hein Wagner has many accomplishments to his name. He has completed the Absa Cape Epic, ran the Antarctica Marathon, the Two Oceans and New York Marathons, completed full Ironman, completed the Cape to Rio Yacht Race, holds the World Blind Land Speed Record at 322.52 km/h, and received a golden key from the university of Stellenbosch for his ongoing efforts towards social upliftment.

Hein Wagner is living proof that despite the challenges that come our way, anything is possible. He does not allow his blindness to stand in the way of his dreams and people often refer to him as the blind man with exceptional vision.

” I’ve been working as a full-time international keynote motivational speaker the world over for the last 18 years and my audiences vary from small executive leadership groups of 10 – 40 people all the way up to 15 000 people at global kick-off events for top international brands. My success as a speaker comes down to my authenticity and my story telling approach based on my own experiences. My purpose in life is to inspire people to turn huge obstacles in to major opportunities as that is exactly what I did with my blindness.

Given his life-long personal history with blindness he is in a very good position to speak authentically about diversity and inclusion. More often than not he happened to be on the exclusion side when it came to the set believes of many abled body individuals and organizations. This had a major influence on him as a blind person, and years ago he vowed to actively engage organizations to help break down the barriers to entry for the employment of the blind and individuals with disabilities.

To further support the inclusion of the blind in the 4th industrial revolution Hein founded the Hein Wagner Academy, where 50 blind adult students are currently in full-time training towards National and International qualifications.
