Robby Kojetin

A simple mistake at an indoor climbing gym sentenced Robby Kojetin – Inspirational Adventure to a year in a wheelchair with both ankles crushed, ruptured tendons and permanently damage, doctors said he’d never climbed again.

Crippled, not only by his injuries but also by mounting debt, depression, having lost everything, Robby takes the audience on a nail biting journey from the brink of suicide, staring down a lethal dose of painkillers, to conquering the ultimate endeavor of the human spirit, summitting Mount Everest. Using his experience of rebuilding his life from rock bottom, he invites the audience along as he brings the decisions and conscious shifts in attitude to life in a highly engaging 60-minute story.

His eye-opening insights and super human tenacity make for a story that is as entertaining as it is hard-hitting and relatable.

Since his accident in 2006, Robby has gone on to join a handful of people to have stood on top of the world’s highest mountain, Mount Everest. He has also completed the Ironman triathlon, climbed Kilimanjaro nine times, 5 of the Seven Continental Summits – and cemented his place as one of the most inspirational and engaging thought leaders on the international speaking circuit today.

Robby also coaches people to reach their personal summit goals and is a regular contributor to a number of radio programs, magazine articles and TV features, including Discovery Channel’s Everest: Beyond the Limit.

Robby’s Book Left Foot Right Foot

Robby Kojetin is the first South African author to be considered for the prestigious Boardman Tasker Prize for Mountaineering Literature (UK) as well as the Banff Mountain Festival Book Prize (Canada).

This book is a journey from the seat of a wheelchair to the summit of the highest mountain on Earth. A simple fall, sentenced him to a year in a wheelchair and put an abrupt halt to his dreams and ambitions as a mountaineer and athlete, and shattered the aspirations of a regular 28-year-old.

This story is more than just a biography or just another mountaineering expedition account. This is a journey into hell and back, time and again, in an awe-inspiring effort to chase the ultimate dream and rebuild a life worth living for.

Robby’s long-awaited book is the perfect take home gift for your delegates. Discounts are available for bulk orders of 50+ copies.

Technical Requirements

Robby’s presentations are packed with incredible photographs and jaw-dropping footage from some of the most extreme environments on Earth, so it goes without saying that a projector, a screen and sound are required for best effect. Robby presents his elegantly designed visuals from his Apple MacBook, for which he has all of the necessary connectors and a remote. So, it is as easy as plugging in and hitting ‘Play’. A bottle of water would be a cherry on the top, and greatly appreciated. For smaller groups (less than 40) a microphone is not necessary and where possible, lapel mics and headsets are preferable to enable Robby to be as engaging and mobile as possible.
